We may share your personal information only as necessary.  This may include service providers such as the carrier being used to deliver your order, or when legally necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or to respond to a lawful request for information.

Shipping and Delivery

At this time, The Film Shop ships merchandise to locations within the United States.   The risk of loss and title for all merchandise ordered on this web site pass to you when the merchandise is delivered to the shipping carrier.

The Film Shop offers free ground service shipping on qualified products on orders $100 and up to the continental United States.  Non qualifying products are subject to shipping charges.

The Film Shop will make its best attempt to pack items together to minimize the amount of cartons required to ship.  Small items like tools, may ship inside boxes with your film orders.  If it appears that an item is missing, please check inside all cartons.  Additionally we will recycle packaging.  If you receive a package with a label for a product you didn’t order, please open the package to verify you received your correct product.

In most cases, with in-stock items, orders placed by 2:00pm PST will ship the same day.  For custom prepared products (prints, cuts, etc.), please allow extra time for the order to process and ship.  Orders do not ship on Saturdays, Sundays and certain holidays.

Orders utilizing the free shipping option will receive the lowest priority over other orders.

Please note that due to high demand for shipping, all carriers are facing more frequent delays than normal.  Ground transit times are not guaranteed.  FedEx Express shipping options are only guaranteed according to FedExes policies, which can change with seasons and demand.  Shipments do not transit on Saturdays, Sundays and certain holidays, except where those additional options are available.

Packages may require a signature at delivery.  We always encourage you to be there to receive your delivery.  Customer assumes all responsibility in the case of a delivered package that is stolen or not located for any reason.

If your package is running later than normal, or shows as potentially lost in transit, we must wait 1 full week before we can consider the package lost and file a claim.

In the case of lost or damaged shipments, The Film Shop will be happy to file a claim on your behalf, however, it can be a lengthy process.  If you need replacement material right away, we recommend ordering a replacement while awaiting a decision on the claim by the carrier.

In the case of damaged shipments, it is best that you inspect the contents when they arrive and inform the driver of the damage and refuse the package if the damage is too extensive to allow your use of the product.  If the damage wasn’t caught at the time of delivery, the claims process becomes more challenging.  At a minimum, the carriers will require clear photos of the damaged package and contents and we often see refusals of claims using this method.

Sales Tax

The Film Shop charges sales tax for merchandise ordered on this Web site based on the applicable state sales tax rate and the location to which the order is being shipped.

Wholesale accounts are able to place a resale certificate on file to differ sales tax.

Manufacturer Defects

Manufacturer defects refers to products that present/display a defect right out of the box, or while being applied.  If you experience a product defect, we highly encourage you to stop using the product and contact us for resolution.

We understand how frustrating it can be to experience film defects, but please note that if a claim needs to be filed with the manufacturer, we are bound by their respective claims processing methods, and subject to their decision to honor the claim.  Our customer service team will do everything we can to assist you through the claims process, but please understand it’s not always an easy process.

The claims process can be lengthy.  If you need replacement material right away, we recommend ordering a replacement while waiting for resolution.

Defective film claims must be filed within 30 days of delivery.

When filing a defective film claim, you will need to provide pictures, sent via email to info@thefilmshop.com, along with product info (product, order date, size to claim).

The manufacturers do require the defective product to be returned.  If you are able, please circle a section of the film showing the defect and package everything back into the original packaging.

Usually within a week of filing the claim, we will receive a return shipping label from the manufacturer which we will forward to you.  It will be your responsibility to tender the return package to the assigned shipping company within the manufacturer’s time limit (usually 2-4 weeks depending on the manufacturer).  If the time expires, the claim will be closed and we will be unable to reopen the claim.

Manufacturer Product Warranties

Manufacturer warranty failures refer to products that present/display a defect after being applied and are actively in use (already installed).  

Warranties and warranty processing may differ between manufacturer, product, region, film orientation, installer certifications, and more.  It is up to you to determine the warrantability of the products you are using.  Much information can be found on our resources page, or directly on the manufacturers websites.

If you experience a product warranty failure, please contact us for resolution.

When filing a warranty claim, you will need to provide pictures, sent via email to info@thefilmshop.com, along with product and customer info (product, product order date, installation date, client zip code, size to claim).

The manufacturers do require the failed product to be returned.  We know removing film, particularly with defects can be challenging.  We understand that it won’t look pretty, but please do your best to remove it in a fashion that will still allow the failure/defect to show.

Usually within a week of filing the claim, we will receive a return shipping label from the manufacturer which we will forward to you.  It will be your responsibility to tender the return package to the assigned shipping company within the manufacturer’s time limit (usually 2-4 weeks depending on the manufacturer).  If the time expires, the claim will be closed and we will be unable to reopen the claim.

Return Policy

Many of the products we sell are altered from their original configurations.  Any custom configuration such as, but not limited to: cut sheets, cut rolls, chrome delete rolls, printed materials, laminated materials, etc., are not eligible for return.

Installation tools are not eligible for return.

The Film Shop is unable to accept change orders or cancellations once an order is in the fulfillment process and a product has been altered.

Full rolls that have not been used are eligible for return within 30 days and will be subject to a restocking fee and any incurred shipping costs.  No exceptions will be made.

Please note: colors and finishes of the same product may vary from roll to roll.  The Film Shop cannot guarantee a match of products from different rolls or lot numbers.

The Film Shop is not responsible for installation failure, nor do we guarantee the application of any of the products that we sell.

VOID WHERE PROHIBITED: Although the information on this Web site is accessible worldwide, not all products or services discussed in this Web site are available to all persons or in all geographic locations or jurisdictions. The Film Shop and the advertisers each reserve the right to limit the provision of their products or services to any person, geographic area, or jurisdiction they so desire and to limit the quantities of any products or services that they provide. GOVERNING LAW: In the event of litigation both parties agree that the Law of the State of business registration of The Film Shop shall apply and both parties shall consent to the jurisdiction of said State's courts, or in the event of diversity of citizenship, the United States District Court for the (District). Both parties expressly waive a trial by jury.

MISCELLANEOUS: The Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and The Film Shop with respect to this Web site.
